History

The department first began offering instruction in 1942 as part of the Istanbul Technical School, in the buildings of Yıldız Palace. The launch of doctoral programs dates back to 1969.

In 1976, within the Department of Electrical Engineering at I.D.M.M.A., our program was divided into the fields of Education, Energy and Control, and Electronics and Communications.

In 1982, it continued its educational activities within the Faculty of Engineering at Yıldız University.

In 1992, following the renaming of our university from Yıldız University to Yıldız Technical University, our department continued its activities within the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

Since September 2011, our faculty has been conducting its educational activities at the Davutpaşa Campus.
